WCSA and the Office of the Dean of Students are hiring 2013 Orientation Week Orientation Coordinators and WOLF coordinators; be in charge of planning Woodsworth College’s amazing annual Woodsworth Orientation week!
Orientation Coordinators (2 positions)
Are you a dedicated Woodsworth student? Do you have a passion for your college? Did you love Frosh week? Think you can make it better? Then the position of Orientation Coordinator is the one for you!
An Orientation Coordinator (OC) works closely with the WCSA Vice President of Social Affairs and the two WOLF Coordinators to plan, coordinate and oversee Woodsworth’s annual Orientation Week. The primary purpose of Orientation week is to help acclimatize incoming students to University life in Toronto. It gives them the opportunity to meet with their peers in a friendly environment and engages them through a series of social and academic activities. For a summary of an orientation coordinator’s duties please see the application form.
There are two OC positions available, and although you may apply alone, we encourage that you submit a cohesive application with a partner. These positions are paid and require a flexible schedule during the summer months.
WOLF Coordinator (2 positions)
The WOLF coordinators, under the supervision of the Office of the Dean of students, plan, coordinate, oversee and evaluate the academic and student life portions of the Woodsworth Orientation Week. They do this working closely with the WCSA Vice President of Social Affairs, two Orientation Coordinators (OC’s), and the Office of the Dean of Students. The primary purpose of WOLF (Woodsworth Orientation for Life After Frosh) is to help acclimatize incoming students to university life. It gives them the opportunity to meet with their peers in a friendly environment and engages them through a series of social and academic activities.
The WOLF Coordinators will be responsible for planning and implementing programming for WOLF aspects of Orientation. Programming will encompass all aspects of student life including, but not limited to, academic success information, campus life information, and health and wellness information. Information will be tailored to our incoming class. WOLF Coordinators will be responsible for recruiting WOLF Leaders and Executive Leaders as well as chairing the WOLF Planning Committee. WOLF Coordinators will also be responsible for maintaining complete financial records and developing a WOLF Manual and report for successors.
Applicants should possess leadership experience as well as a knowledge of the Woodsworth community and campus resources.
