Meet the Board (2016-2017)

Congratulations to the 2016-2017 board on a successful year. Please stay tuned for information on your 2017-2018 WCSA Board.

Hey everyone! My name is Novera Khan and I am so honored to be serving as your President for the term 2016-2017. A bit about me – I am currently going into my fourth year studying Political Science, Economics and Sociology. I am also absolutely obsessed with Coke & Netflix!  This year, I want my role to extend beyond student governance. It is really important to me that all of you feel at home at Woodsworth College and that your experience here is as fun as possible! If you have any questions/concerns/suggestions, need someone to give you a pep talk or just someone to grab food with, I can be reached at or Facebook!

Hey Woodsworth! It’s an absolute pleasure to be back in the finance portfolio but this time as your VP. What does this mean for you though? Well, for one it means you can approach me at all times if you have any questions regarding the budget. It also means that you can count on me to make sure that all funds are allocated to fit the general needs of all you Woodsworth citizens (woodsworthians? Is that a thing?). But hold up, that does not mean I am a boring finance guy. I also love sports, camping, indie/rap, and grabbing an occasional brew with the buds. I like to think I am well-rounded, which I really hope helps me through this amazing year. As a wise man from Etobicoke once said, “This 2016/’17 team is going to kill it this year, ya feel?” I sure think he’s right.

Hey Woodsworth! My name is Kristine Sarah Medrero and I’m your 2016-2017 Vice President of Social Affairs! Currently, I’m a fourth year student, double majoring in International Relations and Political Science with a minor in History. You may be thinking: Why would someone studying in these programs want to take on Woodsworth’s Social portfolio? Well, my lovely Wolfpack, it’s because I LOVE Woodsworth (trust me, I pretty much live, breathe and exude anything and EVERYTHING Woodsworth – you’ve probably heard my distinct laugh and/or voice around Woodsworth) and I LOVE planning events (I’ve got last year’s Coffee Crawl and Pi Day under my belt). So what can you expect from the Social portfolio this year? Well, along with my Associate Director of Social Affairs, Samantha Davis, I’ll be bringing you a variety of social events, like our annual Red Party and a couple new ones too, so you can interact with other Woodsworth students and enjoy yourself while you’re at it! And trust me, there’s going to be a lot of food-based events (I mean who doesn’t love food?). So, Wolfpack, get your bodies ready for another year of fun-filled events! If you have any ideas, feedback or are interested in getting involved, then feel free to contact me at or come visit me during my office hours!

Hello there Woodsworth! My name is Ryan, (or Minki, whichever one you prefer) Jeong and I am pleased to be representing the finest student population on campus this year as vice president of external affairs. Our job as student leaders would entail many things, but the main task for the external portfolio is really building healthy relations with other colleges, faculty, and or any external organizations, to maximize student life here at Woodsworth. For instance, if a resourceful opportunity is being offered by an external organization that our students could utilize, I, along with the external committee will be working our best to ensure that we capture that opportunity for our students. In addition, the external portfolio is to encourage student life on campus through establishing desired clubs. This being said, please feel free to come talk to me either during my office hours or just whenever you see me around the college to talk about literally anything you’d like, but implementing clubs in particular. I would be more than happy, and it would be an honour to work with all of our students to ensure that their voice is being heard, on all matters. Now, some of my main objectives for this year include; advocating students rights, implementation of additional clubs, ensuring that Woodsworth is a welcoming environment to all students at all times, pushing for college-collaborative events to maximize student benefit, and much more! If you’d like to hear more about my platform, please come and talk to me, I would much enjoy sharing ideas. Please contact me at, if you have any questions/concerns. Let’s have a fantastic year, Woodsworth, and see you all soon!
